'When we two parted' by George Gordon, Lord Byron:-

Lord Byron wrote a large number of lyrics. Some of them are regarding Liberty, Nature & Love. When we two parted manifests a poetic genius of Lord Byron.
The title of this poem When we two parted alone is sufficient to convey the theme to the reader.
The central idea of this poem is feeling of separation. The poet & his beloved on account of some specific reason have to part forever.
In this poem we come across alterations many time like..

When... We
Half Broken... Hearted
Long... Long...

The present poem is a well designed lyric of total four stanzas of eight lines each.

"In secret we met,
In silence I grieve.."

Noun (Silence, Heart,Fame etc..)
Adjective(Colder,Half Broken etc..)
Verb(Parted, Grew etc...)
Adverb(Truly,Deeply etc..)

The present poem shows the situation when two lover depart forever. Meeting & parting is very natural in life.but two lovers depart & especially forever,it's very touching & pathetic.
Byron describes this moving situation with the words like The two lovers separated in silence & tears which are the most powerful tools for communication. Beloved's vows & promises are broken & he feels shame for it.the poet complaints also for the faithfulness of his beloved. He comments that he will continue to rue her for a long time.
At last,he questions that suppose they meet again after long years, how should he greet her..?
But he himself answer the question that he should greet her with silence & tears that means he will continue to remember her ever after many years.

Thank You.
