The central idea of this short story is the stronge feelings of q young boy who falls in love with his neighbour Mangan's sister.he spends time watching her from his house or thinking about her.finally they talk & she suggests that he visits a bazaar in Araby which she cannot attend.
The boy plans to go & purchase something for the girl but his uncle returns too late & he gets late.any how he arrives at the Araby late.
But most of the shops are closed.unfortunately the things are too costly to buy from there.as a result,he can't buy anything & returned with heavy heart & frustration.
