Death, be not proud in brief:-

Donne's Holly sonnet Death,be not proud deals with the theme of death. He challenges authority of death saying that there is no need for any human being to be afraid of death.Death is generally considered to be mighty & dreadful but in this reading it's neither mighty nor dreadful.
Death thinks that when it goes to a person,it throws away that person but in reality that person doesn't die. According to the poet, the picture of death is nothing but sleep & rest that give joy to a person.
Even the best people sooner or later go with death then why should we have to afraid of death..?
Death offers rest to human body & soul is transferred to another body. It's a slave of fate,chance, king & a man who is in distress. There are three residing places of death namely poison, war & sickness.
Mother's love causes sound sleep to a child & in the same manner death also causes sleep to a person. One is charming & another comes as stroke.
After every sleep a person gets up,death is also a sleep after which a person gets up forever.
In short, it's a message to mankind how death should be treated without considering it mighty or dreadful.

Brief on Sweetest Love I Do Not Go

The present poem by Donne deals with the theme of Love, in which the lover addresses to his beloved. It's a poem about the lover's emotions when it's time for him to separate himself from his beloved on account of his forth coming death.he is of the opinion that those who loves truly can never be seprated even by death.
It's opens with the lover's clarification that he is going away from her not because tired or of a hope that he will be able to find a better person than her.but the reason is his death.he accepts it as a joke.the real death could take place if he stops loving her & it would never happen.
He gives an example of the sun which went away the previous night has come back again.though the sun has neither sense nor desire compared to that he has both so he would make his journey speedier than the sun.
He comments on futility of human power that men can not add even one hour more to his happy time.he can not bring back his happy days once that are over.he is not afraid of his death & on that time only he tells her not to be afraid of going away.
He requested her not to sigh or weep because it's the soul which comes out,when she weeps it's not tears,his blood. The waste of that then conclude that she does not love him.the death of his beloved would give them a chance to remain side by side in their grave.so death would become q chance to be in the company once again.

Brief on The Sun Rising

The Sun Rising by John Donne is a genuine evidence of meta physical poetry.
The poem deals with the theme of Love of a lover for his beloved. It's an address of a lover to the rising sun, in which the lover portrays his beloved,Superior to the rising sun.
The lover addresses to the sun as Lazy, Old,Fool because it peeps through windows & curtains into the bedroom of the lover. He wants to make clear that the season & time of lover's can never be governed by the sun.lovers do not accept the concept of time.
The lover isn't ready to believe that the raise of the sun are powerful. It's possible for him to create an eclipse on the sun simply by closing his eyes but he doesn't do that because for a moment even he can't bear or tolerate,losing the sight of his beloved.
The lover mentioned that after taking a round of the earth,the sun would realise Real India of spices is in the bedroom in the form of his beloved.
He compares his beloved with very significant things. Wealth has less importance in compare to her.so they both are not ready to accept worldly rules & regulations as set by the sun.
It's an experiment of Donne that he uses images from the field of politics & nature for the expression of love.

To differ from the poetry of former poets,the school of meta physical poets tried to write poetry in the matter & manner.
2)Display of scholarship:-
All the meta physical poets tried to display their scholarship through their poems & for that they made a conscious attempt to reflect their leaning & scholarship in it.
3)Far fetched images:-
The third remarkable feature is their choice of a distant images & conceits in the writing of poems. They didn't select images from the associated fields but from those fields which have nothing to do with the theme of their poems.engineering, history, biology, geometry & many other fields were attempted.
4)Scholarship & Musicality:-
Dr.Johnson mentioned that the meta physical poetry stood a trial of their figures but not of their ears.no doubt it proved their scholarship in the writing of the poetry but they failed in creating music in their poetry.they didn't care much for rhythm in it.
5)Opinion of critics:-
Critics like Dunkon,Hellen,Johnson & Eliot have commented extensively on the poetry here. Dunkon considered it as the poetry made for a class not mass.Hellen opines that it was the demand of time to writer poetry in a different way.had they continued writing poetry in the same manner as the former poets, their would have been rejected.

Limitations of Cultural Studies:-

Diversity of approach & subject matter-
Sometimes it's happen that one can't exactly convey the right content & that's why misinterpretation or some other issues may take place.
Lack adequate knowledge of the deep play of meanings or thick description.
Mirror image of the culture only one can find here. Instead of x-ray image it's shows slight pictures.traditional professor tries to see this to students.

Happening is captured by mass media. Popular films captured merely a slight image instead of deep one.
Satyamev Jayte,a popular TV show focused on such.
Khan shows the black side of Indian Hindus.

Deconstruction & Derrida:in brief:-

There is nothing outside of the text.
The deconstruction is the theory or practice of reading which questions & claims to subvert or undermine the assumption that the system of language provides ground that adequate to establish the boundaries,the coherence or unity of the determinant meanings of the literary text.
A new way of reading text.it goes beyond the traditional way of reading texts.
Text has in itself some elements that deconstruct the structure of that text.
It differs from structuralist view that meaning lies within the text.
Deconstructionist says that the work is made of words & words have no definite meaning. It is the reader who creates meanings. Words can't give meaning.
In essay 'Structure,sign & play' Derrida gives terms like:-
Decentering the center:-
Derrida deconstruct the metaphysics of presence.
There is nothing like truth apart from language.
He tries to prove that structurality of the structure does not indicate the presence, it's free play of signs.
Supplementarity:-
A literary text is a work of language & language is in state of ever changing evolutionary.
Language being in the flux is not ever the same.it always gaining in new elements & loosing the older once.
Literary work being made of language,there is no certainty of it's meaning.
Meaning of the work of literature is keep changing with the time.
In text,a word suggests another word & there is no meaning in word itself. You have to rely on other words.
